CITY OF MENLO PARK – US 101 / WILLOW ROAD INTERCHANGE

Scope of services includes comprehensive project management, inter-agency coordination with CalTrans, Cities, Utility Companies, West Bay Sanitation District and the San Mateo Country Transportation Authority.

Reconstruction of the existing alignment to a partial cloverleaf interchange. The overcrossing will be replaced to provide eight lanes of traffic, sidewalks, class II bike lanes, and class I bike paths. The project realigns the on/off ramps, will construct new sound walls and retaining walls.

The US 101/Willow Road Interchange Project is a significant capital project and affects local and regional transportation network. While CalTrans would be responsible for project implementation, significant coordination from Cities staff is required for monitoring and coordination with the various agencies.

Services includes full time project management, project inspection services, and coordination of utility relocations for the Cities of East Palo Alto and the City of Menlo Park, review the implementation of traffic control plans, coordinate relocation of various City-owned water lines, serve as a liaison between CalTrans and the Cities during the reconstruction of the existing interchange.
