Solano Community College District is a valued client which Swinerton Management & Consulting (SMC) has had a relationship based on integrity and trust spanning more than a decade. SMC was selected as the Construction Manager for the new Library Learning Resource Center (LLRC) project at the district’s main campus in Fairfield, CA, in 2019. Powering through the pandemic and threatening community fires, the project team comprised of Project Executive John Baker, Senior Project Manager Cary Talbott, and Project Manager Vincent Som helped it reach completion in December 2021

.
The new 58,265-square-foot LLRC is the second major project at the Fairfield Campus and the fourth major project out of 11 district-wide projects that SMC has managed. It replaces the aged Building 100, which is under abatement and demolition. This new building now serves as the focal point of the campus. It is a space that encourages active and collaborative learning, a priority of many colleges and campuses. Included in the building are the district’s IT services, ASTC, and local Fairfield TV broadcast studio.
